This July and August, I had the privilege to travel to many interesting places. Through the Chilcotin and Nemiah Valley, and to Seton Lake for work. San Diego, where I attended Comic-Con with Chuck, my first nerd convention. And then to Prince Edward Island, to celebrate our friend’s marriage!
I hit my one-year milestone with Barkley Project Group, and shared the following message:
I’m excited to reach my one-year milestone with Barkley Project Group! Reflecting on the past 12 months, I’m ever grateful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing people. From First Nation community leaders to my wonderfully passionate colleagues, local renewable energy talent and the next generation of sustainability professionals. In this short time, I’ve had the privilege to visit many communities and work with local teams on community energy planning and implementation projects. It’s a welcome balance of sharing my knowledge and experience, while also learning from others. Being able to work close to home on climate change problems keeps me motivated and inspired in my day to day.
This past month, the BC Sustainable Energy Association announced upcoming events, including WISE 2024 and a re-imagined Energy Connections. It’s great to see the new board and volunteers build on the work my friends and I carried out since 2017, and even better to see the new things they’re bringing to the fight against climate change!
